Chef Pasquale ‘Pat’ Pascarella will open the two-story restaurant in the Morningside Atlanta by Windsor community mid-2019.

Chef Pasquale “Pat” Pascarella is planning an Italian eatery called Grana for the Piedmont Heights neighborhood of Atlanta, according to a press release Thursday.

Grana will specialize in wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, housemade pasta, “authentic Italian specialties” and more.

Piedmont Heights Education Committee

Piedmont Heights Parents

Are you a Piedmont Heights parent who can volunteer about 6 hours each year? Are you a PH resident on the APS Go Team? Are you an educator? tutor? living in our neighborhood?
We need you! The PHCA is looking for volunteers for our PHCA Education Committee.
The Grady Cluster is going through tremendous change, and we need to keep pace with everything that happening within the cluster. The PHCA has formed an education committee to assist with information gathering and output to residents. The committee will also be helpful as we approach major cluster changes within the next 5 years. Having a unified voice as a neighborhood is a great place to start. Our surrounding neighborhoods are often well represented at local meetings and events. Go Team representatives from Piedmont Heights would be especially important for us as well

Meetings in person would be quarterly, all other communication can be utilized if needed.
Leads-Lead/ Co Lead the committee
Liaison with Michelle Olympiadis our District 3 School Board Representative.
Go Team Representatives
Meeting Representatives (unofficial or official) – Grady Cluster Dig is on the 21st, if we could get feedback from our volunteers we can disseminate that information to our parents.
Contribute skills, network and most important share information with other parents who are new to the cluster, entering K in the year ahead, or changing from elementary to middle or high

Email your interest to communications@piedmontheights.org

Thank you.

National School Walkout Day on March 14
In addition, you may have seen information on social media and on websites encouraging students, teachers,
and their allies around the country to organize a National School Walkout Day on March 14, 2018, at 10 a.m.
for 17 minutes to insist that Congress take legislative action on keeping schools safe. There are two additional
dates for student civic engagement proposed for March 24 and April 20.

As the birthplace and school district of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Atlanta Public Schools (APS) takes se-
riously our responsibility to prepare our students to succeed beyond high school and to help them become

well-rounded individuals equipped with the knowledge and tools necessary for actively engaging in society. To
support student engagement around a national dialogue on National School Walkout Day, our schools are
planning to work with our students and student leaders to develop a structured plan that will be implemented
during that 17-minute walkout. Some schools are already getting prepared for the learning experience!
It will be supported by our Teaching & Learning team. They are recommending age-appropriate instructional
activities to support teachers’ efforts in facilitating this conversation around civic engagement and
social responsibility.
